Technology for recovering low-grade molybdenum from iron-molybdenum ore

The process technology for recovering low-grade molybdenum from iron-molybdenum ore was jointly tested by Beijing Mining and Metallurgy Research Institute and Fujian Maeng Mining Co., Ltd. Experts believe that the project has applied multiple advanced and mature technologies to the iron ore-molybdenum ore sorting process in view of the fact that the valuable elements such as molybdenum and zinc in the magnetic separation tailings of Ma Hang Iron Mine have not been recycled. A comprehensive technology for effective recovery of molybdenum and zinc. The project has the following main technical characteristics and innovations: (1) Research and development of adding a coarse concentrate and a scrubbing process to the appropriate location of the process has effectively improved the grade of molybdenum concentrate; (2) Researched and developed a new combination The adjusting agent, under the conditions of meeting the requirements of environmental protection, realized the inhibition of zinc minerals and reduced the impact of ions on flotation.

The process technology has been used for production. The molybdenum concentrate with a grade of 45.84 % and a recovery rate of 72.35 % has been obtained from a magnetic separation tailings containing 0.057 % of molybdenum, which has significant economic and social benefits. Experts believe that this technology has for the first time industrially achieved the recovery of low-grade molybdenum from iron-molybdenum ore and obtained molybdenum concentrate that meets the requirements of national standards, and the overall technology has reached the international advanced level. Experts also suggested that industrial trials for zinc recycling should be completed as soon as possible, and that molybdenum's integrated harvesting technology should also be promoted as soon as possible in similar mines.
