Chongqing plastics industry market demand is expected to exceed 200 billion

By the China Plastics Processing Industry Association and Chongqing City Commission by letter co-hosted the second session of the China International Engineering Plastics Industry Innovation Summit held in Chongqing on the 31st. The conference focused on the theme of “Innovation, Intelligence, and Industry Interconnection”. Nearly 100 people from enterprises, research institutes and industry associations participated in the conference.

Focusing on the theme of “Innovation, Intelligence, and Industry Interconnection”, the conference set up a main forum with the theme of “Engineering Plastics Technology and Industrial Development Trends” and two sub-forums from enterprises, research institutions and industry associations. Nearly a hundred people participated in the meeting.

It is reported that this is the second session of China International Engineering Plastics Industry Innovation Summit. In September 2015, with the approval of the municipal government, the first conference hosted by China Plastics Association, Chongqing Economic Information Commission and Liangping County People's Government in Chongqing Yue Come to the convention center. Nearly 600 people from more than 480 enterprises, scientific research institutions and domestic and foreign industry associations attended the conference. The plastics industry associations from 8 countries around the world signed the "2015 China International Engineering Plastics Innovation Conference Chongqing Initiative", which successfully created the city's vigorous development of the plastics industry. The good environment has attracted many well-known plastic enterprises at home and abroad to pay attention to the cultivation and development of plastics industry clusters in our city. During the conference, 21 projects were signed, with an investment of 9.7 billion yuan and 12 projects with an investment of 2.5 billion yuan. One of the projects has been put into operation, and three projects are under construction. After the project is put into production, the new output value is expected to be 560 million yuan. As of September 2016, Liangping County's plastics industry has put into operation a total of 21 projects, with an accumulated output value of 5.2 billion yuan.

The theme of this conference was “Innovation, Intelligence, Industry Interconnection”. During the conference, the company focused on publicizing and recommending the city's implementation of the innovation-driven strategic deployment and the specific measures of the Liangping Ecological Plastics Industrial Park to enhance the overall innovation capability of the industry. The main activities of the summit include the opening ceremony, special forums, unveiling ceremony, investment promotion, project signing and so on. It is understood that during the meeting, 30 projects will be signed, with an investment of more than 8 billion yuan.

Zhao Gang, chief engineer of the Municipal Economic and Information Committee, said at the meeting that Chongqing's vigorous development of electronic core components, intelligent terminals, high-end equipment, new energy vehicles and smart cars and other strategic emerging industries have spawned the demand for plastic parts. According to the forecast and analysis, the demand for plastics industry in Chongqing will exceed 200 billion yuan by 2025, and the output demand will exceed 7 million tons. With the surrounding areas of Chongqing, the overall market demand will exceed 1 trillion yuan.

Chongqing Municipal Government is taking Liangping County as the core, focusing on five major fields of plastic products, plastic molds, plastic machinery, plastic modification and trading market, with R&D and production of engineering plastics and modified plastics with good market prospects, high technology content and high added value. Focusing on products, we will build a complete plastic industry cluster integrating R&D, design, production and processing, testing and evaluation, trade logistics and recycling, and build a plastic eco-industrial cluster in western China to create a 100-billion-level industrial chain.
